Pets will be the last offense to upgrade at th14 so you won't have anything else to sink your DE into. I finished all offense upgrades including lab and heroes several months before the pets. And I maxed my pet house on day 1 at th14. Unless you just plan on rushing to th15 I'd still max out all the pets.
