Factorio city block size

I am trying to create my own city block, but ran into an issue. How can I make them overlap while being chunk aligned? I know I can make it relative, however, that becomes too hard for me to even try to line things up (I am visually impaired).Currently my goal is to get at least 5k green circuits processed per minute. You either have to make absolutely HUGE city blocks to get them to line up, or you have to have overlapping something. People seem to usually build the rail network aligned with the grid, and then build the roboport layout to fit that. There are other factors as well - block size, whether blocks are producing so quickly that the local rail infrastructure can even keep the block fed, which leads to designs favoring smaller, redundant, and more widely distributed blocks, etc. ... Factorio grids are closer in size to city blocks than to waffles

Did you know?

With 3-8 trains you may end up designing your own after everything. A lot of the community prints tend to keep city blocks to a 100x100 square or 3x3 chunk, which are for smaller, more-frequent trains rather than longer trains. 2.This is my current state of Bob/Angels game. I decided to make city blocks so they can hold much more I currently need to produce. I plan to go megabase after teching enough to do that. Currently making small amounts of blue science and managed to unlock mineral sorting 3, so newt in line is to get gold, and all blue science production to going.if you arent going for some high spm, the hexagonal + light looks much better than city blocks + lights. to get light you just simply connect light to rail signal. I tried city blocks for 300-400 hours. It can cause congestion really fast when expanding.City-Block: Science-Sushi (WIP) You can tell that the engineer gave up on matching the colour of the trains to the type of science they carry. " There's a mod for that ! Of course there is. Awesome. R5: city block with Z4 symmetry, up to 8 train stops (5 working atm), and science sushi belt! The city block and sushi belt design are from the ...My first city block attempt with 96x96 blocks and 1-4 trains used that method, but I ended up with a few bottlenecks. You probably have a high enough density of intersections that there's no issue, and I bet your 1-1 trains absolutely fly around the factory.the city block design is also a copy-paste friendly design. need more product X? Copy paste a whole block of production for X. if setup correctly (trainstation in and output, etc.) the pasted copy can autobuild via robot network and will smoothly integrate into the existing train-network, starting its production and request material once its built.Luckily city blocks should be less dependent on high throughput intersections, I'd think, since you're basically running a ton of parallel rails. Provided you are being a bit smart about where you lay stuff out, unavoidable high traffic zones should be relatively easy to mitigate or even non-existent.Everyone has their own opinion, but I like the feel of 100 by 100 it’s a good size to try. That’s exactly the length of 2x2 robo ports meaning that you can have a global logistics network to deliver you building materials and fuel your trains (if that’s a design you like). And this means your bots can expand your grid easily without you being there. ( I know most city blocks …tldr; How big is "too big" for a city block? My context is to attempt to build an entire base out of uniform tiled blocks of the same size, repeating (and likely …This blueprint book was made to allow anyone to easily design city block megabases. It allows you to customize every segment and junction individually meaning you don't need to follow the convetional square grid. It supports trains up to size 8.Solar aufbauen, abbauen, wieder aufbauen. Dauert halt nur unnötig lange. Avoid 4 way intersections. They will become bottlenecks in the future. To pull off 3 way only make big 3x5 bricks of city blocks, surround that with rails. Damn now I wanna do back and try SimCity. That game felt really hard when I was like 10.My station blueprint with a connected stacker takes up 2 city blocks, with an intersection on a 3rd block feeding it. The small size is a challenge but a rewarding one - making new prints that fit in 100x100 feels great. And I'm already in too deep with this block size haha. I've been making a litany of blueprints for 100x100.The small blocks and quantities mean it's mostly 1-2 trains with 2-4s for some high quantity stuff. It's also right hand entry to blocks only, due to the lack of intersection space. That's made for some inefficient looping around the block - but with so many paths because of the block count I've not really had congestion issues.Jan 19, 2021 · Hey there! Here is a new City Block for you!You can now acces them on factorioprints:https://factorioprints.com/user/S9kDskV9WgTq0C929MA1jCnBATu1Community-run subreddit for the game Factorio made by Wube Software. 500 spm city block for Brian's Self-Building Mega-Factory. I really want to try and build some semblance of a city block base before the new 2.0 update since I've never really done it before and I want to experience it before the new content gets added. I'm also playing vanilla since I don't want to learn LTN since 2.0 will fix a lot of train issues anyway.the nilaus block is a port square big and too small to fit anything more then a 1-1 train with stations inside the block. its also 3 chunks across due to the radar coverage range. you cpuld shrink it by removing a section of large poles but it would be too small for anything outside bot managed areas if you want anything actually productive. 3.363K subscribers in the factorio community. You can have them in all sizes, but that is the size i always use. You should really design it around how big you want your trains to be. A 1-4 train fits perfectly well into a 2x2 city block and you can make it work to get enough stations in etc.City blocks should be built around your station design, making the junctions and stuff is the easy part. Even in vanilla you'll need about 7 stations per block, with mods it can go up to 12 or so, depending on recipe.

I wanted an alternative to the monolithic everything-included mall I had been using for a long time, so I decided to break it up into smaller chunks that I could duplicate, place in different areas, etc. I ended up with 8 small "mall modules" of the following types: Logistics / Assembly. Ore Handling / Steam Power.I started out a newbie, went through a bus phase, a bots phase, and several different phases of rail before embracing a philosophy I call "organized spaghetti." IMHO 2-4-0 is a decent compromise - at 41 tiles long it fits easily enough in city blocks around 100x100 tiles in size.
