Vacuum line diagram for chevy 350
Anyone have that diagram for the diesels? Run the motor up to 3,000rpm and set the timing at 32 degrees. Now check to see what you have at an idle. If your mechanical advance is actually 26 degrees then you should have 6 at an idle.

The Chevrolet small block 350 engine is a 6.0 liter, overhead valve V-8 engine that is built for the small Chevy truck models. The 350 engine was made from 1970 until 1990. The 350 was a larger engine than the previous 318 which was produced from 1955 to 1966. The 350 engine is available in 4 barrel, 6 barrel, and 8 barrel versions.Usual suspects are: 1) Wiring harness - disconnected, damaged, etc. 2) EGR solenoid - broken or disconnected vacuum lines. 3) EGR diaphragm is defective ( very common) 4) Intake manifold EGR passages are clogged with oil and carbon deposits (common in high millage engines)Same size as the modulator on the trani. I would not go smaller ID size. I have used different size ID hose and had no changes as long as ya get it sealed up with no vacuum leaks! I like to bend solid line and use a short hose at each connection. The yellow line you have run into the cab to the vacuum switch on the a/c controller is correct, (The switch is plugged unless the top lever is in the A/C position. The Vortec didn't come out till 96 I believe. So if your 91 is the original engine then it is not a Vortec motor.
