Paladin 6/Sorc 6 is a great cross class already. The problem with using it for your build idea is that if you want to get lightning bolt AND extra attack, its gonna be hard to so since you need 5 levels in paladin and 5 levels in sorcerer. So it probably wont be "online" until late act 2 or early act 3.
