One should question maximum loading, since a 370 grain LFN from a Ruger .480, at 1170 fps, went through a side shot on a 2500 pound Bison, killing him just like a 375 H&H rifle would have. It still does not equal what a 475 can do even if you load it hotter. Try learning about the original development behind the 480 cartridge. And ruger has discontinued chambering guns for it.
