The 338 lapua compared to the 338 edge are pretty close velocity wise. In your situation I'd just go 338 edge and get a new barrel. The 338 edge +p is a defensive edge only option. If I was starting new I'd go 338 lapua, the brass is available and better. Plus the 338 lapua improved gets you more velocity and out paces anything based on rum brass.
