The fan relay (s) turn ON the fan (s) and turn OFF the fan (s). Some small signal voltage, via the PCM and ECT, sends a command to the relay solenoid winding. The solenoid closes a pair of high amperage-capable contacts which starts the fan (s). If that contact pair burns (welds) closed, the relay stays ON and the fan (s) run; the relay is trash.Whether it is a broken wire, blown fuse, or poor ground, all of these can cause the A/C compressor to not turn on. An A/C compressor has to have proper power supply and a good ground to work correctly. A tool to check this is a digital voltmeter. Solution: Check the wires going to the A/C compressor. There should be a power and ground.
