Alright I found the episode. It was called Screamers. And I stand corrected about the gigantic check saying Publishers Clearing House on it. Or maybe it did but this video is too low res to show it. But back in the day Ed worked for their rival. Then PCH went on a crazy marketing blitz and everyone just remembers Ed doing some sweepstakes thing, and if it a sweepstakes advertised on TV it must be PCH. This is honestly silly. The people who know for a fact Ed McMahon was the spokesperson for PCH can see in their mind his picture on their envelopes, him in the commercials, etc. For the people who claim he worked at American Family Publishers, do you actually remember seeing his face on their envelopes and seeing him in their commercials, or are you just stating ... This appears to be the best evidence that Ed McMahon did work for Publishers Clearing House handing out checks. The only better evidence would be Ed himself on the show with the check doing the gag.
