Newbie to DDO here, forgive a possibly stupid question - But I don't understand why Dodge (and later mobility) is preferred over Weapon Finesse. Wouldn't the +4 Dex bonus to melee attack (from Weapon Finesse and 18 Dex) be more helpful than the Dodge bonus?I'm pretty sure inquisitive is basically a class in its own right, you can just ignore your base class entirely, be inquisitive, and that's good enough to level up and perform decently well. Generally what you want for effective soloing is AOE damage, defenses, and some kind of self-heal or sustainability. I'd say three popular choices right now are Paladin, Barb, and Wizard EK/PM.Strimtom's hardcore season 1, 2 and 3 builds are easy to achieve, high survivability, decent new player starting builds that require no tomes. Some involve race/class/universal tree unlocks but a fair bit don't. I would say new players go look there instead of other places. Not only does the bastard sword gain strike through, you'll have higher defensive stats (AC, PRR MRR), while also having a nice hitpoint boost from the weapon styles.
