Copy any files that have ElvUI or parts of it you recognize, both the .lua and the .bak files. Example ElvUI.lua and ElvUI.bak. Paste those in the new base directory in the same place. For individual character settings go to: World of Warcraft\_retail_\WTF\Account\YourAccountName\YourServerName\YourCharacterName\SavedVariables.

I logged back into a char and nothing has changed. Looking in the addons from the menu its saying "missing dependency - ElvUI".

I just go to the website, download the rar file, and extract to Interface>Addons and overwrite whats there. Havent had any issues in the several years I have used ElvUI.
