John Wilkes Booth (1838-1865) was the illegitimate son of the great English actor, Junius Brutus Booth, and Mary Ann Holmes. Junius and Mary Ann came to America in 1821 and settled in Maryland. They were the parents of ten children and were eventually married in 1851. Junius died in 1852. John Wilkes and several of his brothers were also stage actors.In his 1907 book, lawyer Finis L.
