Downsides are higher recoil impulse and it's not John McClane approved. I personally think the MP5 magazines are tougher, as well. 1.The SBT5A feels better shouldered, but the HKPDW brace just looks so classic and isn't terrible when you get used to it. If the main goal is shooting, I would say the SBT5A. Cheek weld on the PDW leaves a bit to be desired.
