You can take several hits while with light armor 2-3 hits can kill you. You can counter ki problems not just by kekkai talisman but also by other ki reduction bonuses and ofc using Ki Pulse and Flux I & II.Kohoku is 52.7%, which is fine, still medium and shows that Raiko's armor is, of course, a bit heavier since it clearly has more metal added for defense.
