At least the one I have purchased sony ubp-x700 is a very bad player. Lots of problems : it does not detect the ultra hd of my blurays and just output them in 1080p.But, for a movie like Office Space (which I also love) I'm good with the blu-ray. Another thing I've noticed is that some 1080p discs that were mastered in 4K look really good. Like, I recently upgraded to the 4K disc of Robocop and I honestly don't think it's that big of an improvement over the awesome looking blu-ray (both done by Arrow).
