Better AI design for both mobs and bosses and more responsive controls lead dark souls 3's combat to be significantly better than DS2's as a whole. There are other qualitites that are up in the air though. For instance, build variety was much better in DS2. A lot of people prefer lore from DS2 over DS3, etc....purely content-wise, trc is better. Ringed city has 4 bosses one of them is pretty bad (halflight) one of them is great (demon prince) and two of them are phenomenal (gael and midir)Crossbows are unique in the sense that they do not scale AT ALL with any stats. So you’re build will essentially be to just build you’re character into a tank. Outrageous health and whatever other stats you may want. I wouldn’t recommend putting you’re stats past 18/20 (str/dex) as with those stats you can wield absolutely every crossbow.

Physical is the best damage type. Playing a mage, you tend to always have some sort of "Dark" spell, sorcery has Deep Souls, affinity, dark edge, etc. Pyros have dark fires and faith has the Gnawings.
