I don’t rock crawl but I do disconnect and trail. I’ve had my current 3.5 lifted JKRU with 35’s tires about 2 inches from the fender . I would vomit and go into shock if my new gladiator smacked the fender . And imho I think it looks better. Apparently you can gain quite a bit of clearance if you do this, upwards of 3 inches. before- edge =7.25 in. inner= 7.5 inch. after- edge=9.5inch. inner=11.75 inch. I have a 2” mopar lift with 37s. I do get an occasional rub when flexed. But nothing crazy.
For TJ Wranglers, a 4” suspension fits this size tire with no issues, while JK owners can safely utilize these tires with at least a 2” spacer kit.
