Chevy volt wont start
2011 Chevy volt ICE won't start. Sat for a year, fully charged the battery with voltec charger, installed new 12 v battery, new plugs, new coil pack filled & filled with gas. Car drove on electric and the gas engine never started, and said engine unavailable and then loss of propulsion. Felt the engine and its cold still after 10 miles drive .Reason 1: Battery Pack Performance Has Decreased. The power of the propulsion system may have been lowered if your Chevy Volt is having issues. The battery performance might have decreased since it cannot deliver 100% torque to the wheels. In the past, it had problems starting when I didn't turn it on for more than a couple days, but after jumping it and letting the engine run for ~15 minutes, it would work fine.

Drove it about 80 miles on Tuesday, using gas and electricity, all was fine. Drove it to work (about 5 miles) Wednesday morning, all was fine. Went to drive it home, found it totally dead. Supplying power to the jumper terminals under the hood provides low voltage so that the computers can operate. At that point, pressing the Volt's power on button will close the APM's contactor so that it can power the computers and start charging the 12V battery.
