It was originally released as a sub-model of the popular Ranger, but as the RZR gained popularity, Polaris realized this machine was in a class of its own. The Ranger name was eventually dropped and the evolution of the Polaris RZR began. I just completed changing all the fluids on my 2012 RZR 800-S this weekend. I bought the machine used last summer, and it only had 50Hrs and 500km on it. I don't think the original owner had done any services prior to me purchasing it.
