Microsoft planner delete plan

This originally started with my planner account and is now affecting a colleague as well, we have deleted a large number of tasks (which defeats the purpose of us using planner). it seems that the issue being: - 250 assigned tasks per user irrespective of plans. as this issue is happening across multiple plans.
