Re: 3 point won't go down in reply to mike , 09-18-2000 17:19:19. Two main possibilities come to mind. One is a blocked exhaust port, the other is maladjusted or damaged lift control linkage. Just recently put a 9in auger drill on the 3 pt hitch to dig holes for a fence. Lift seems to operate fine when not in ground. As soon as auguer digs down 4-6 inches, the 3 pt hitch will not pull the drill out of the ground! It seems like my 3 pt hitch is extremely weak. Tractor only has 50 hours on it.
