Lacerations just take longer to heal than scratches. You do not need anything more than a decent bandage, be aware of any infection (not z-virus) and stay healthy. When you are bitten (Aka Bite in the Health panel) that's 100% a zombification infection. You can have no wound infection on it but eventually you'll get queasy, nervous, and feverish. After that point you'll lose health and become a zombie. This all applies with default infection settings (Blood + Saliva).
