My Craftsman 42" Lawn Tractor (Model # 917.203901) will not move forward or backward, and the Drive Belt is fine. I have found that the Transaxle Variation Belt has shredded and come off in pieces. My novice understanding is that this belt is turned by the transaxle to set the speed/gear commanded by the foot pedal.I contacted them last week about a 1/4" ratchet that the nimrod at Lowe's wouldn't replace because it was an older one. Contacted craftsman & submitted a claim. They were on it quick. A couple photos of old ratchet & within 1&1/2 wks had a brand new nice V series 1/4" in the mail. Great experience.
